Acupuncture

Marlene Burk, LAC (Licensed Acupuncturist)

Acupuncture is a unique healing option. By tapping into the body's natural resources, acupuncture restores equilibrium, alleviates pain, and heals illnesses. Although acupuncture has been used in America since the 1970s, its effectiveness in treating a variety of conditions is the only credential needed for it to take root here, and for its popularity to flourish. Acupuncture works under the principle that there are 12 major meridians or pathways in the body, and a blockage in any of them can result in physical, emotional, or mental dysfunction. I have been able to help my patients overcome a variety of struggles by using acupuncture to lift the blockages. I help free up life-energy so my patients experience a new, healthier normal.

Conditions that can be helped by acupuncture include: pain, reproductive dysfunction, neurological injuries and deficiencies, gastrointestinal and digestive problems and emotional difficulties.

If it happens in or to the body, mind, or spirit, chances are good that acupuncture can help. Through my years as an acupuncturist, I have found that everyone has a story. Making sure my patients know that I hear them and understand the depth of what they are saying is a big part of my treatment approach.

I have been working in the Philadelphia suburbs as an acupuncturist and shiatsu practitioner, serving many local people and those from nearby areas. I am glad to be a part of Main Line Counseling & Wellness Center to provide holistic care to all of our clients. I obtained a master's degree in acupuncture from The Won Institute in Glenside, PA, passed the national boards through the NCCAOM to become certified, and am licensed to practice acupuncture in Pennsylvania through the PA Board of Medicine.
