Esther Gilbert, LCSW

Esther is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She approaches each person with compassion and care. Becoming a more comfortable and self-assured person, is regularly an outcome of her work. She focuses on the goals and desires of her the person sitting with her. The point is a process of discovery resulting in developing balance, ease and resilience. She enjoys sharing creative arts in the healing process, especially writing, handwork and imagery.

She was awarded her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and is trained in EMDR, an approach for working with people who have experienced trauma.

As a well-informed therapist using the best clinical practices, she is affiliated with the Pennsylvania Clinical Social Work Society and the National Association of Social Work. She has had additional training in Spiritual Direction under the auspices of Loyola House Retreat and Training Centre, Guelph, ON.

She brings years of experience in counseling. Her work has been in people’s homes, in her office and in other community settings with individual, families and groups. She also has extensive experience counseling caregivers.
